Summary
Abstract:
South America is part of Region 6 (Central and South
America) for the World Energy Assessment. The geologic
map of South America was digitized so that we could
use the geology as a general guide to draw the
boundaries of the geologic provinces of South America.
Purpose:
The purpose of digitizing the geologic map was to
allow us to have a geologic base on which we drew the
boundaries of the geologic provinces of South America.
The geologic map was used as a guide for placing
province boundaries rather than as a location map for
very specific geologic entities.
